1 Thessalonians 4:13-16
 
13 But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15 For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
 
 
 
We miss Pastor Anthony so very much but we know he is in the Presence of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

Pastor Anthony served Peletah from 2011-2023 as the primary preaching pastor, he had a passion for carefully unpacking the truths of Scripture. He and Pastor Dawn founded Peletah Ministries, Peletah Academic Center for Excellence, Joseph Community Farmers Market, Peletah Institute for Building Resilient Communities, Peletah Trauma Recovery Resource Center, and Peletah College. They purchased the New Bern Post now ENC Post.
 
Pastor Anthony worked in the Mental Health field for more than 40 years. He served as the Mental Health Services East Program Director for Easterseals UCP.
 
He had been active in church since he was a child. Pastor Anthony received his BS in Business from NC State University and the MS in Human Services from The Audrey Cohen College. He completed doctoral work in Christian Theology from Christian Leadership University.
 
He also has completed the Duke University Non-Profit Management program and was credentialed as a Certified Alcohol and Drug Counselor.
 
Pastor Anthony served on the Board of Directors for Habitat for Humanity Craven County affiliate. He was recognized by the City of New Bern for his exemplary pastoral service in January 2013. He and Pastor Dawn were the 2013 keynote speakers for the annual Dr. Martin Luther King Scholarship and Awards program in New Bern.  In 2015, he received the Service Award from the North Carolina State University’s United Student Fellowship for his community work through Peletah Ministries.
 
Pastor Anthony was passionate about the Word of God and seeing God’s people reach their destiny in God through wholeness and freedom .His last acts on this earth were serving others. 
 
He leaves to cherish and honor his memory and to preserve his legacy, Pastor Dawn Baldwin Gibson, his cherished wife of 18 years, their three children: Minister Spencer, (Prophetess Malika) Kaitlyn, and Hannah (deceased) and four grandchildren (Phillip Alexander, Issac Anthony, Leah Abigail, and Luke Andre)
